Do you want to be the one setting the trend instead of following the crowd? When it comes to eyewear, there is one way you can stand out from the crowd this summer – with Mulberry UK! Best known for their bags, this year, luxury British brand Mulberry launched its first ever eyewear range and here at Ferrier & MacKinnon, we can’t wait to show you all their beautiful frames. But first, here’s more on Mulberry and their debut eyewear collection…
Mulberry began back in the 1970s at the kitchen table of Robert Saul with £500 in his pocket from his mother and a passion for creativity. It truly was a family endeavour with his sister designing the iconic logo of a tree, representing the many trees he would pass by on his way to school each day in Somerset. British values and style lie at the heart of this lifestyle brand, which made its name through its range of leather goods, bags in particular.
Mulberry continues to grow as a brand and it made perfect sense to incorporate eyewear into its family of lifestyle products. Bringing in the expertise of Italian eyewear company De Rigo, Mulberry launched its first ever prescription glasses and sunglasses in January 2019.
Sticking to its British roots, Mulberry sunglasses celebrate British icons, from Kate Moss to John Lennon, through each of its 8 stunning designs named after their inspirations: The Kate, Jane, Emma, Charlotte and Gian, all of which offer different takes on chunky acetate frames, as well as The Tony and Lenny which offer light, metal frames and finally The Enyd, a hybrid of the two styles.
Mulberry glasses are no less stylish than their sunglasses, with retro glasses frames in a range of colours, from classic black with gold finishes to striking red-streaked Havana frames.
